2011 FOTA Fans' Forum podcast

The 2011 FOTA Fans' Forum, the second of its kind to take place in the UK, proved a massive success. Described as the biggest forum so far, it took place at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking and was attended by more than 200 racing fans. If you weren't one of the lucky ones, or even if you were, you can listen to the thoughts of Lewis Hamilton, Martin Whitmarsh and Ross Brawn in our special AUTOSPORT podcasts covering the event.

The team principals

Formula 1 team bosses Martin Whitmarsh (McLaren), Ross Brawn (Mercedes), Graeme Lowdon (Virgin) and Bob Fernley (Force India) discuss topics ranging from Formula 1's exclusivity from fans, future engine regulations, potential future venues for grands prix and the green issues faced by the sport.

The engineers

Senior engineers Paddy Lowe (McLaren), James Allison (Renault) and Paul Monaghan (Red Bull) talk about the influence of DRS and KERS on the racing in 2011, the controversy surrounding off-throttle blown diffusers, the secrecy that is rife in the paddock and whether refuelling is missed in Formula 1.

The drivers

Lewis Hamilton and Kamui Kobayashi talk about the secrets of pulling off a great overtaking manoeuvre in a Formula 1 car, how the racing has changed this year, and in the case of Hamilton, what he would ask Ayrton Senna if he was able to put one question to his boyhood hero.
