The AUTOSPORT.com top ten

It's that time of the year, for the AUTOSPORT.com team to vote on the best driver and the most memorable grand prix of the year. Fourteen voters participate this season. Each selected five drivers and three races, awarding the best driver five points, all the way down to one point for the driver in fifth place. The best race was awarded three points, all they way down to one point for the race in third place. Collecting together everyone's votes accumulated to a list of the top drivers and top races of 2009, as well as the memorable and forgettable events of the season. Here are the results and the voters' reasoning...

Jonathan Noble (JN)

1. Jenson Button; 2. Lewis Hamilton; 3. Sebastian Vettel; 4. Kimi Raikkonen; 5. Rubens Barrichello

Button just gets the nod for the job he did in the first half of the season, despite the wobbles later on. Hamilton wins applause for his fighting spirit throughout the whole year.
